THOUSANDS of 14-year-olds will be able to study vocational GCSEs, the Government announced this week.
In the pound;32 million overhaul of the post-14 curriculum less academic teenagers will be encouraged to choose courses leading to work in construction, omputer technology, plumbing and engineering. Education Secretary David Blunkett said: “The neglect of vocational and technical education has been a British disease.”
Post-16s can choose new vocational A-levels and modern apprenticeships.
