City of Edinburgh has stolen a march on many of its Scottish League rivals by starting a volleyball academy to bring on new talent.

“We have 16 boys enrolled this year and have started them by training three times a week,” says the club’s cadet coach, Arthur Biagi.

“They have a lot of support from their parents, which is so important at this age.”

Most of the boys are 12 or 13 but have been playing in the Scottish cadet league, which is a 16-and-under competition.
