TV presenter Carol Vorderman has beaten William Shakespeare to be named the top-selling author in Britain’s schools. The Countdown star’s maths and English revision guides came first in the schools’ bestseller list while the Bard came fourth. Ms Vorderman said: “I’m hugely surprised but I do believe that maths is as interesting as Shakespeare.” Books of exam assessment papers by JM Bond were second and an English course by John and Liz Soars was third.
