Votes at 16, says minister

The voting age should be lowered to 16, school standards minister David Miliband said this week.

Mr Miliband told a London conference of A-level politics students that lowering the age at which young people are eligible to vote would be logical, given that 16-year-olds were already allowed to get married, pay taxes and join the Army.
