THE majority of muggings and robberies are committed against teenagers, according to the British Crime Survey 2000. It showed a fall of 10 per cent in the number of crimes committed overall, but a rise of 14 per cent in he number of robberies.

Young people were robbed of mobile phones, training shoes or lunch money, said the report published by the Home Office and based on interviews with 19,000 people.
