Schools are facing budget cuts next year in spite of the extra Pounds 835 million allocated by the Government for education, says the National Association of Head Teachers.

LEAs threatening cuts are said to include North Yorkshire, Dorset, Leicestershire and Norfolk. David Hart, general secretary of the NAHT, said: “This could seriously undermine the Government’s drive for higher standards and do little to improve the motivation in those schools which face cuts next year.”
