Teachers and parents took to Twitter earlier this month to raise awareness of the financial pressures schools are dealing with, using the hashtag #schoolsjustwannahavefunds.
But now one school has gone further. Pupils from Yerbury Primary School in Islington, London, have recorded a Cyndi Lauper-inspired music video to protest against the government's funding decisions, which will result in schools having to save £3 billion by 2020.
The lyrics include: "Hey you, have you heard the news, the National Funding Formula is being introduced.
"Your kids won't be the fortunate ones, schools just wanna have funds."
Yerbury decided to make the video after attending a meeting organised by Fair Funding for All Schools – a parent-led group which is campaigning for the government to give more money to schools.
