AS a lay inspector, I am confused by the hostility shown by the teaching profession toward the inspection process and inspectors in letters (TES, May 5).
It has been my experience that registered inspectors take a helpful and sympathetic attitude, looing to find strengths rather than weaknesses. The usual exhortation is that reports should show “the glass half full rather than half empty”.
Perhaps my encounters are unusual?
