Building a staffroom is a one-off business cost (“No more rooms of their own”, 27 July). Not having one is to fail to recognise the value of informal cross-curricular discussion and debate, innovative talk and the forging of supportive networks that benefit teachers and pupils. I believe that all organisations need these hubs - even in Westminster, where our MPs can use the communal space to transact much of their daily business.
