Is we there yet?

In “All the way from America” (12 April), we read: “Teaching and learning is very much stronger in Britain than in the US.” Are this an illustration of what you mean, or simply a home-grown example of the way English is developing? George W. Bush did raise the question “Is our children learning?” after all.
