Imagine if he had an hour free of appointments. Perhaps he had planned to read a few papers and make a couple of phone calls. He was then told there were 35 young people waiting to see him. What would he do?

And what would he do ifthe same thing happened the next time he had a spare hour, and the next?

Teachers are not walking out of classrooms, they are merely suggesting they should not be forced to walk into them, unprepared and at the expense of their (and their own pupils’) preparation time.
