A Buckinghamshire village is taking legal action to evict a free school that plans to cater for 900 Sikh pupils, it emerged. Residents of Stoke Poges claim that the school would cause traffic problems.

Backed by education secretary Nicky Morgan, the NAHT headteachers’ union launched new guidelines on when pupils can be out of school during term-time, covering weddings, funerals and religious events.
