Welcome to our preview of the 2003 Early Years and Primary Teaching Exhibition and Conference in Glasgow.

Over the past two years some 5,000 teaching professionals have visited Scotland’s own resources and training exhibition, organised by TSL Education, publishers of The TES Scotland and Nursery World.

This year’s event looks set to be every bit as good as the last. Not only is it being held in a new venue, the SECC, but a special educational needs conference has also been organised by the National Association for Special Educational Needs.

Never has the importance of early years education been so highlighted. The imminent overhaul of the 3-18 curriculum, announced by the Education Minister Peter Peacock in September, emphasises the importance of a child’s first few years of education. The draft framework of underlying principles of learning and teaching are being worked on by the Executive’s curriculum review group and will go out to consultation in the new year.

Through seminars, keynote speeches and exhibition stands, this conference offers you practical tips to take back to the classroom as well as the chance to network with others.

Enjoy!
