Welsh-medium places slashed

A proposed 480-pupil Welsh- medium primary school due to open in Swansea in 2008 is to have 120 places slashed after intervention by the Assembly government. Peter Black, Lib-Dem chair of the Assembly's education, lifelong learning and skills committee, said the decision to cut the size of Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llwynderw could lead to overcrowding.
