An inquiry into school funding in Wales will be launched this week after a TES Cymru study revealed significant underinvestment compared with the rest of the UK.

The Welsh Assembly committee will look into whether pupils are being short-changed in education during a probe expected to last until Easter. Research by David Reynolds, professor of education at Plymouth University, found Wales has spent 6.4 per cent less on education than the UK average since 2002-3.
