The King’s Champion by Catherine March. It is true romantic escapism in the form of a handsome and valiant knight and a wilful and strong-headed daughter of a lord. The story tangents to real events at the end of the 13th century, and after twists and turns they marry, but all is not well, waiting till the last pages of the book for the “happy ever after”. It is a safe read for a holiday; not at all challenging.
