More than 2,500 children will perform at the Royal Albert Hall over the three nights, in this 30th year of the Schools Prom. There are 11 acts a night, from youth bands to infant choirs. Highlights include:

Monday November 7

Pownall Hall school junior choir from Cheshire singing Old Tyme Music Hall Jinza Jazz from Preston playing “The Sound of Music” and “Mustang Sally”

Tuesday November 8

Two Bad Mice, the Puddleducks and the Flopsy Bunnies: a Beatrix Potter homage from the Northamptonshire Performing Arts Service

Fiddlers Galore: traditional fiddle music from County Down, Northern Ireland

Wednesday November 9

London Schools’ Symphony Orchestra playing Wagner and Elgar Bents Green special school: autistic students playing Michael Nyman on alto, tenor and bass percussion.
