Where’s the Rave?;Children’s books

Have your pupils read any good books lately? Can they pour their enthusiasm into enticing reviews? The TES has teamed up with the National Association of Head Teachers and McDonald’s Restaurants to find keen, opinionated book lovers under 19.

Details of the Rave Reviews competition are being sent to 30,000 schools this week. Key stage 1 to 4 pupils are asked to review the favourite fiction or non-fiction title they’ve read this school year. After the closing date of May 7, winners will be chosen for each key stage in 12 regions in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Regional winners will receive pound;50 book tokens; their schoolspound;100 tokens.

Three national winners from each key stage will be announced on September 23. They will receive book tokens worth pound;200, pound;100 and pound;50 and extracts from the first prize-winners’ reviews will be published in The TES.
