Who dares, never wins

Candidates for this year's SQA exams have been receiving an innocent-looking leaflet fronted by a smiling boy and girl, complete with blazers, and, mirabile dictu, school ties done right up to the collar.

But Your Coursework 2007 turns out to be a crackdown on plagiarism and collusion, aka cheating. There are warnings and the leaflet reminds candidates that they have to sign a declaration saying that coursework submitted for assessment is all theirs.

The SQA is taking no chances: the sample declaration on the back page of the leaflet has the word "Example" across it - no doubt in case anyone cheats by plagiarising the leaflet itself.
