1. “There is no frigate like a book To take us lands away, Nor any coursers like a page Of prancing poetry.

This traverse may the poorest take Without oppress of toll; How frugal is the chariot That bears a human soul!”

2.” Generally we would bully in packs, with me as some sort of sinister court-jester figure. I had a nasty streak in me which I’ve tried hard to erase as I’ve got older. I suppose I would spot a psychological weakness in a kid and then concentrate on that. It’s something kids often do to each other, but when you can turn it into gags, comedy songs etc. then you can really do some damage.”

(Sent in by Paul Warnes) 3.“The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a ‘sharp stick’ called truth.”
