Who's in charge?

Some organisations have a stronger line to authority than others, it seems.

In the recent parliamentary committee exchanges on the charitable status of private schools (TESS last week), MSPs learned that the Church of Scotland receives from "its Divine King and Head, and from Him alone, the right and power . . . to adjudicate finally, in all matters of doctrine, worship, government and discipline in the Church".

Just as well they don't run any schools, then.
