RUDOLF the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose. But, says the Royal Society of Chemistry, there is likely to be a sound scientific explanation for this physical anomaly. Send entries to Claire McLoughlin, The Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, W1J 0BA by December 13. Winners will be awarded a prize.
