Wicked sense of superiority

IT is not good enough for Caroline St John-Brooks to blame the Government's failure to improve education on "the Thatcher years" (TES, June 14). Lady Thatcher resigned as Prime Minister 12 years ago and, incidentally, expenditure on education and other services rose during her period in office.

Ms St John-Brooks, following Jack Straw, calls Lady Thatcher a "wicked woman". One of the most detestable features of New Labour politicians is their assumption of their own moral superiority.
