School pupils can now get close to bearded dragons, a tawny owl, white tree frogs and a baby tortoise thanks to a Dunfermline businesswoman.
Kirsty Yule, 22, of Animates, aims to take her programme of interactive science-based workshops to schools in all parts of Scotland. Her exotic array of wildlife will help to provide a hands-on learning experience focusing on endangered species and the conservation and protection of the environment. She also has a collection of illegal animal trade products, such as elephant tusks, ivory and tiger products, leopard and antelope skins and stuffed turtles and crocodiles, all of which have been seized by HM Customs and Excise.
The programme is suitable all age groups, particularly 5-to 14-year-olds, Ms Yule says . A whole school can be catered for in one day and workshops can be tailored for individual groups.
