Wilshaw’s wise words

While any teacher is likely to agree with Sir Michael Wilshaw’s disquiet that a situation where Ofsted inspectors have never actually taught in the classroom “needs to be dealt with” (“From failing head to Ofsted inspector”, 29 June), it could be argued that such a state of affairs is not inconsistent with the position of Michael Gove who, by profession, is a journalist. I’d be very interested in perusing Mr Gove’s prepared scheme of work, particularly given his fervent reformist initiatives. Or, like those very same inadequate Ofsted inspectors, is he winging it?
