Who was the Shaman of Kington Lovell? How do you put together a Victorian boneshaker? These are some of the questions posed by the Wiltshire History Quest, hosted by the South West Grid for Learning. An interactive site aimed at primary school children both in and outside Wiltshire, it showcases objects from Wiltshire museums and gives children a chance to play history detective online. At the moment it covers the period from pre-history to the Victorians and is being expanded to include Britain since 1930. This section goes live on April 1, when users will be able to go shopping in a virtual 1930s street, make up their own newspaper front page covering wartime Wiltshire and explore school days and transport in the last century. It comes with downloadable resource sheets including photographs and documents from the Wiltshire Public Records Office .
