Women in the boardroom

During a long and undistinguished teaching career, it never occured to me that I might now be deemed to be in the forefront of educational change (“A woman’s place is in the boardroom”, 19 July).

In my lessons, girls tended to be just as disruptive as boys. Admittedly, they did not need too much encouragement from me.
