Workload row leads to strike

Members of Britain’s second biggest teachers’ union staged a one-day strike at St Gregory RC science college in Harrow, north London, in a long-running workload dispute. The National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers claims the school’s head, Martin Earley, has been taking “unjustifiable” disciplinary action and intimidating members who are refusing to attend extra meetings and write extra pupil reports. Mr Earley denied the allegations.
