TERRY McCretton’s letter (TES, March 21) about the National Association of Head Teachers South West region’s concerns about implementing the workload agreement has hopefully reopened the debate.

I was appalled when my own union, the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, signed up. I wondered if any of the signatories had read the small print and who was going to fund the workload reduction.

This Easter and May could see a lively union conference season, especially if executive members listen to their grassroot members before they go.

Ihope so.
