The World as a Stage, which starts this week, promises to build on that tradition. A new exhibition exploring the overlap between art and theatre, the centrepiece will be Rita McBride's "Arena", a fibreglass sculpture in the form of a stadium that will be used to stage live performances. Another highlight, Mario Ybarra Jr's "Sweeney Tate", will transplant a barbershop from Los Angeles, where the artist runs a gallery. London barbers will be invited to ply their trade, with a winning hairdresser chosen towards the end of the run.
Visitors can also see Jeremy Deller's video The Battle of Orgreave, which re-enacts clashes between miners and police in 1984, using 1,000 members of the public, some of whom were involved in the original action
