An apparently excellent teaching idea called "Mantle of the Expert" is described as requiring "retrospective planning" because it allows pupils to determine the direction of lessons in ways which cannot be foreseen.
Teachers are thus instructed to plan their lessons after they have taught them!
Is it just me, or is this the ultimate example of paperwork gone mad? If teachers can plan retrospectively, can I choose my numbers for the National Lottery retrospectively also? Maybe in Ted Wragg's absence, the DfES thinks it can get away with ever more absurd ideas.
