Will your pupils’ work feature in TES Scotland’s Scots Dictionary? With the closing date for entries March 31, primary schools all over the country are sending children out to gather any Scots words and sayings they can find in their community. The idea for the project came from Dunblane primary teacher Elaine Wyllie. Her P5 class collated their own 30-page Scots dictionary with the help of families and friends, which was then used for school fundraising.
Now we are asking you to help us ensure that children from all 32 regions of Scotland compile their own dictionaries and send them to us so that we can compile a national edition that will reflect the Scots language at the end of the century.
