The National Galleries of Scotland is running a creative writing competition with support from the English-Speaking Union, Scottish Poetry Library and Scottish Qualifications Authority.
There are categories for pupils aged 16-18; 12-15 and under 12.
Entrants must write either a short poem or piece of prose, of no more than about 1,000 words, that is inspired by one of the works in the NGS collection (at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Paxton House, Duff House or the Dean Gallery).
