CANADA: Thousands of teachers are said to be suffering from burn-out and stress following a decade of educational turmoil. Major reforms have included new curricula, cuts in resources, the mainstreaming of special needs children and a large increase in papework.

In Ontario, almost half of the 800 teachers now on sick leave are suffering from stress. The number of teachers who are claiming long-term disability is almost double that of nurses and air traffic controllers. Full story www.tes.co.uk
