Unilever’s international project invites young people to explore the idioms of contemporary artists. Images of an installation from Clive Barker, a print by Joe Tilson and a Barbara Hepworth sculpture are included in a teachers’ pack. It comes with advice on sketching, assembling a “dictionary” of shapes, combining symbols with text and creating visible shapes from physical sensations. This is a special chance to make a creative splash. Closing date for entries in the Unilever International Schools Art project is October 17. There are three age groups: 5-10, 11-13, and 14-18.
