OUTSTANDING YEAR 2 ENGLISH WEEKLY PLANNING (SPaG focus)

This is a collection of resources which provides everything you need to be able to teach a full week (5 lessons) of English to a year 2 class. It is linked with ‘Bob the Man on the Moon’ (which can be found on Youtube if you do not have access to the book!). Included in this bundle, there is a Smartboard file for every day of the week, resources for each day, highly detailed planning and support materials. It makes learning of SPaG meaningful, fun and engaging! The learning objectives and success criteria of each lesson are clear and link directly with the National Curriculum to provide clear evidence for assessment. There is a SPaG focus across the week. It covers different types of sentences (recognising and applying), noun phrases and contractions. The children in my class were so excited during my lessons and made excellent progress. I was observed during Wednesday’s lesson and graded Outstanding. The week is appropriately differentiated and provision is detailed in planning for GTS (higher ability), EXS (Middle ability), WTS (LA) and SEN. Planning clearly provides opportunities for mastery. Planning includes Teaching Assistant box which includes key questions to support them in the lesson. Friday’s lesson is an independent write, to provide evidence for assessment.

My classes love these: -I get relays printed in sets+laminated. -Pupils work in pairs, run out to my desk, get Q1,attempt to solve it+use a whiteboard pen to write the answer on the card. -They bring the answer to me.If it’s right, they get Q2. If not I might give them another shot. -repeat! They’re mainly number puzzles.Seasonal ones are perfect for keeping kids busy at the end of term.
