An assembly all about the importance of attendance and punctuality. It lasts around 15-20 mins (inc clip) and explores why excellent attendance is essential to gain good qualifications, linking this with having a successful and well-paid career in the future. It includes animations, a 6 minute clip, statistics, quotes and a little humour. It is intended to foster a ‘no excuses’ culture. 20 - 25 minute assembly on the expectations of students in school. This assembly looks at the importance of attendance, correct uniform and equipment, respect to staff and students, behaviour in lessons and effort to work. This ready made presentation also includes 3 very relevant video clips. One from the Rugby World Cup, another from an Obama speech and lastly a “fun” video that went viral on social media. It also looks at the link between staff, students and parents and how we are all working together.

This fun and original assembly aids children in understanding the value of being creative in all of their endeavours, through: Understanding what creativity is, and recognising why it is such an important skill; Understanding that creativity is a trait within everyone (including themselves) that should be encouraged and harnessed; Observing some amazing examples of what creativity can result in; Learning strategies to demonstrate creativity in their own lives. This assembly is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. The session also includes a fun role-play task to demonstrate how everyone can be creative and the internet link to a beautiful, thought-provoking video demonstrating the power of creativity. There are also various discussion prompts to enable children to understand how they can be creative in different areas of their own lives. The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!

This assembly is based on the book by prof Steve Peters. It explains what the book is about and helps students to understand how they can change their mindset when reacting to situations. It is 16 slides in length, fully editable and includes information, questions, scenarios and video’s. There are notes with the slides to help the delivery of the content. I have presented this assembly with 6th form, KS4 and KS3 students and adapted it each time to aid understanding. I have also presented this to staff as part of a CPD course. Assembly for secondary school whole school on confidence with tutor time activities attached. I wrote it for year 9 but the other Heads of Year used it from year 7 to 11 and it worked well.
