This resource pack accompanies Wayland’s brand new, high interest series, Radar. Aimed at 9+ readers, this dynamic series is packed full of streetwise topics with a magazine-style design and content (interviews, real life stories, blogs and poster pages). The resource pack builds on the exciting information presented in the book Bhangra and Bollywood. The pack comprises teacher’s notes, an explanation of the text types and how they relate to the spreads, 3 photocopiable activity sheets, plus ideas for open-ended discussion and cross-curricular activities.
This set of four lessons would make a great listening and appraising introduction to Bhangra music, for either Year 9 or Year 10.
It includes a powerpoint presentation for four lessons, practice listening question and worksheets. The powerpoints cover the key musical features of Bhangra, including instrumentation, and focus on the musical elements of this genre as part of the Eduqas GCSE specification.
This is a PowerPoint presentation I have done for my year 11 GCSE Music group. Note: this is for the current syllabus (2010 exam) but can be used for the new Edexcel syllabus as well. mp3s and videos can be downloaded from sites such as YouTube.
