Children’s mobility is a common experience for most schools but some experience significant numbers of pupils moving in and out of the school, which means that this phenomenon becomes a significant challenge for the school and both the mobile and stable communities of pupils. Managing high levels of pupil mobility well is essential to ensure the school provides the best education for all of its pupils. New arrivals need to receive a good welcome, integrate quickly and begin to achieve, whilst those leaving will need support and help to ensure their exit is smooth and that they are well prepared for their next school. To meet the needs of EAL children’s educational and moral needs, a formative assessment tool is necessary. This will enable the school to track the language attainment of the pupils as they progress towards independent learning. Attached are: EAL - English Assessment Pack EAL - Assessment Tracking Sheet

Conductors and Insulators Worksheet and Short Experiment

(0)
This worksheet comprises of a fill in the blanks paragraph all about electrical conductors and insulators, a space for a experiment setup diagram and a results table. The children are expected to complete the fill in the blanks activity first. You could help them out by providing a word bank on the board/projector. They should then draw a circuit which will enable them to test the conductivity of different materials. For this you will ideally need some batteries, wires and either a motor, LED or Light bulb. I usually have children work in pairs for the experiment but complete their own worksheet. Before testing the materials the children have selected they need to make a prediction or hypothesis about whether their material will conduct electricity or not. *This document is fully editable so you can make changes where you please. *
