Two-hour lesson, jam-packed with information the best ways to revise (as well as how and why) and the most common revision pitfalls, and why these don’t work. Students will complete tasks where they try out the very best methods, critique their current revision strategies, and put new plans into action which integrate all of the new and improved ideas. A revision timetable is included, where students can not only plan their time - but also add in HOW they intend to use the best revision methods they have learned about, during that time (plenary task). An emphasis is also included on sleep, healthy eating and exercise in the months leading up to the exams, to ensure maximum performance. This assembly is based on the book by prof Steve Peters. It explains what the book is about and helps students to understand how they can change their mindset when reacting to situations. It is 16 slides in length, fully editable and includes information, questions, scenarios and video’s. There are notes with the slides to help the delivery of the content. I have presented this assembly with 6th form, KS4 and KS3 students and adapted it each time to aid understanding. I have also presented this to staff as part of a CPD course. Whole School Assembly to think about respect.

A PSHE powerpoint lesson with worksheets included in the ppt on how social media can affect personal relationships. I'm using this with year 8 but I think it could work with any year group. I've focused mostly on the negative as I believe children are far too engrossed in their social media platforms and are missing out on making memories in reality.

Simple assembly using the video from Time To Change named "Stand Up Kid" the purpose of this was to raise awareness of Mental Health Issues in our school. Feel free to remove our school logo and adapt the powerpoint. Let me know how this is received. It is worth noting that, when delivered SLT emphasised the fact that "If you wake up and can't be bothered to go to school because you don't like your maths teacher, you are not depressed" and "If you've fallen out with your friends about a party at the weekend/match of football, you are not suffering from anxiety" just to make sure you don't have an outbreak of people claiming they have a serious condition if they don't. It is, of course a useful resource for creating an environment where pupils who do have genuine concerns feel they can come forward and talk to staff/pupils about their issues.
