I have completed an extremely detailed, lengthly 9 PAGE application form which is rated OUTSTANDING! It took me a week to write in the May half term! I wish I could have saved time by finding a similar download!
I have shown in my application that I am highly competent in all elements of The Teacher’s Standards as defined by The DFE.
All you need to do is download it and make minor edits: add your own achievements and contributions to your school that are substantial and sustained.
This document will ensure your progression!
Two-hour lesson, jam-packed with information the best ways to revise (as well as how and why) and the most common revision pitfalls, and why these don’t work. Students will complete tasks where they try out the very best methods, critique their current revision strategies, and put new plans into action which integrate all of the new and improved ideas. A revision timetable is included, where students can not only plan their time - but also add in HOW they intend to use the best revision methods they have learned about, during that time (plenary task).
An emphasis is also included on sleep, healthy eating and exercise in the months leading up to the exams, to ensure maximum performance. There are loads of activities, clips, information sheets, plans and more and everything is editable to you can tweak for any class.
This double lesson is engaging and very easy to follow, best suited to KS4 but also very useful for KS5 (or even KS3 end of year exams).

This PDF includes 5 key questions asked on pastoral interview and their answers in detail.
These are intended to support existing or new heads of year as well as being potential questions you may get asked on interview.
In this set I answer:
how do you deal with angry parent?
how do you support a student struggling to fit in?
how do you lead a team?
how do you deal with poor student behaviour?
do you monitor student progress?
These answers are suggestions – they are not necessarily definitive.
If preparing for interview, I always recommend you tailor your questions to the school you’re applying to and ensure you are giving specific examples of what you’re able to offer.
If in post, always remember the policies of your school.

It is a one hour CPD session with supporting teacher guide that outlines a practical approach to making zones work in a school setting.
The teacher guide also provides some useful templates that can be used to support students to ‘take 5’ out of the lesson to self regulate and to guide the process of a ‘take 20’ for an emotional wellbeing chat with a teacher.
Zones has been launched successfully across my school off the back of this CPD session.

IMPROVED FOR 2024
This resource is an example application letter for the position of SENCo in a secondary school.
This letter should be developed by including your own examples of where you have completed the points referenced and the impact of that work as well as your learning from the work you have completed – using the spaces to help you do this. This letter is for guidance only and should not be used exclusively to apply for a SENCo role but instead used to support the writing of your own letter. Letters should always be tailored to the school you are applying to and your own experiences. This example includes more ideas than you may wish to include in your own letter and is intended to highlight a variety of content you could use.
This template is over 5 pages long and full of ideas which you could use or remove.
This resource is aimed a secondary school SENCo role, but could provide ideas for other stages of education also.
Please note: covering letters should not exceed 2 pages in length.
I never recommend sending blanket templates for prospective roles and always advise an application is tailored to you and the school.
A resilience assembly with a focus on never giving up and the meaning of being resilient. Contains animations, a clip and a famous story about resilience. It lasts about 15 minutes if clips are watched and questions asked too.

Advice on applying for an Assistant Head (Secondary) position from an experienced Headteacher. This bundle includes a list of interview tasks, interview questions, exemplar personal statement, a video on the key information to put in your application/personal statement and a video describing interview tasks for Assistant Head jobs.
This is a presentation that I have created for our KS3 tutors to use as a dip in resources when they have nothing to do during form time. It includes over 30+ ideas that can be used throughout a term or year.
It includes:
Computer based activities, hand on team building, outdoor activities, brain training etc
56 slides - a compilation of more or less ready-to-go fun activities. Besides ideas, I have included some exercises that you can use or adapt, also website addresses where you can access materials. I enjoyed putting this together and I hope it will be useful.
Mats in various formats for teachers who have EAL students in their class. Some of these I have uploaded previously - on here they are updated. The infographic could be used as staff training: what does each image mean? There is a sentence generator and a mat for teaching new items of vocabulary which I have seen elsewhere in various forms. Hope these are useful!
