This was put together to be a class assembly with the theme of friendship. I also used converted videos as part of the assembly that I cannot upload with the resources. This was designed for a year 3 class of 27 children - all chn have 2 speaking parts. Hope you find this useful! This assembly starts with some nice optical illusions which leads on to the concept of perception. It then looks at various stereotypes in school such as Jocks, Class Clown etc and looks at the qualities of each, and asks students how they would like their peers to perceive them. It then looks at how future education or employment would perceive them looking at the information the school would provide them with - Attendance, behavior points, achievement points, GCSE's and the qualities these would show if they were good. It also considers social media and how students should be aware of what they post now could be seen by future employers. The last few slides are to be filled in by me as they are specific to my school where I will be going over the best attendance, behaviour etc in the past month to hand out a reward. An assembly for yrs 7-11. 15 Slides. The focus is on language we use when speaking to and about disabled people. There are suggested opportunities for student sketches as well as definitions and etymology of words. A great activity is to start the whole assembly by silently signing to everyone, and possibly teaching it to them at the end. Enjoy:)
