Using the vocabulary from the new accredited specification for Eduqas/WJEC 9-1 GCSE Spanish, the vocabulary has been broken into suitable chunks and a set created on quizlet.com to aid vocabulary learning. Students can rate how confident they feel with each word and the student version has the English meanings blanked out so that the students must complete this themselves.

A new overhauled version of this resource is now available here. It covers every single grammar point from the AQA, Edexecel and WJEC specifications and is designed for classroom and independent study.

After a big success last year I am sharing my GCSE Speaking Toolkit. This Powerpoint contains an introduction to the WJEC Unit 1 speaking exam, working memory and six functional chunks along with usability conditions, worked examples, translations, valid alternatives and what the chunk seeks to achieve (references to the past, present, future, subjunctive, easy idioms etc). I made this due to post-mock analysis revealing a lack of complex structures and now introduce it early in the GCSE. This year I have added some AI suggestions which students may add to the original six.

I was inspired by the learning journeys that have recently been posted and made my own (WJEC). It is fully editable. I hope it helps.

This is a game for students of Spanish to help with revision of the Role Play aspect of the speaking exam. Students can play in groups. When I tried it with my candidates they fed back that they found it useful. In so far as possible, the topics and questions have been taken from the specimen questions for AQA, Edexcel and WJEC. When a candidate lands on any white square they have to make a statement based on what it is asking. A blue square means they need to ask a question. A yellow square gives other instructions. A green square means they take a card (thus practicing for the unpredictable element). There are two sets of cards, one for foundation and the other for higher. I printed the cards onto two different colours to make it easier to see which is which.

A planned scheme of work to use with the WJEC/Eduqas new GCSE language specification. This scheme of work covers the first topic of Youth Culture. As the textbook will not be widely available before the start of term, I have used the current Expo and Mira to source resources. It may also be useful to schools who are following other exam boards! These units have been adapted for use with Spanish and French.

This resource is aimed at higher candidates to improve their reading skills. It comprises of 4 A-A* questions taken from 2012-2015 WJEC higher Spanish reading exam papers. The main topics within the questions are personal information, sport, free-time and festivals. Key exam techniques are required and it is an ideal platform to challenge pupils. This can be set as class work, home work, cover work or revision. The resource is easy to edit and print.
