Making Connections - Year 2 Greater Depth Reading

(0)
This resource is perfect for YR2 teachers, it is a set of activity cards which can be used in any KS1 classroom. The cards have the opportunity for children to make links between books (this could be; characters, settings, events in the story, author, writing style and more). The resource encourages children to be independent and chose their own links between the texts - it may be different to peers or the adults. FOR EXAMPLE: Gruffalo and Little Red Riding Hood link because: Both are set in the forest Both have scary hairy creatures in them Both include someone trying to play a trick/joke Both include a character walking through the woods - the list could go on… This activity is open ended and suitable for all learners, the link will always be correct as long as the children are able to explain and give suitable reasons. The books in these sheets are all KS1 suitable books and some which KS1 children will be familiar with. This includes an example card and a guidance for teacher cards. The activity cards would be excellent evidence for the TAF check in Year 2 as well. SEE LINK TO TAF 2018/19: • make links between the book they are reading and other books they have read.

Topical news quiz with some fun pictorial puns to give clues. Please note the lady in the picture is my wife, I'm the hairy one! :-) It is designed for registration and I produce it every Thursday for afternoon registration on a Friday. Most of my old school colleagues used it and I was sending it to about 18 other schools when it was suggested I share it on TES. since I started on TES 4 years ago it has grown and now goes direct to2600+ schools and is downloaded roughly 1500 times a week from TES It has 10 questions and takes about 10 minutes to do. And i'm still doing it 2 years after retirement!

I created this for a lesson observation - the PP and worksheet are adaptations of other resources I found online and tes - so thank you for the help! I had done a number of lessons on probability leading up to this lesson with my 11 set 3 group - roughly E/D grade students. The lesson went really well so I wanted to share it. The answers to the worksheet are handwritten on the PDF attached. Please leave me a review if you use this resource! Probability, Tree Diagrams, GCSE, differentiated, worksheets.

Venn Diagrams - NEW GCSE

This is a PPT I made to cover the new GCSE topic of Venn diagrams. It goes through set notation and includes a matching activity where students have to try and match the notation to the shaded diagram. It then goes into finding probabilities for a two-set Venn, including 'given' questions before extending this to three-set Venns, including ones that need to be filled in. It also has a worksheet to go with it that increases in difficulty, and one of my bonus Throwback Thursdays!
