Aimed at mixed-ability KS2 pupils this resources asks “What is Adventure Writing?” It uses modern and classic texts (all extracts included) to look at the key ingredients of an adventure story e.g. pacey plots, courageous characters, and epic journeys. There are six one-hour lesson plans, or you can use individual exercises as you choose. The resource uses The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie and The Wizard of Oz by Frank Baum. If used before 1st December 2018, the resource includes a first paragraph competition to win a class-set of The Wild Robot books.
