<p><em>The Owl and the Pussy-Cat</em> vocabulary cards and two presentations to support the teaching of all three verses of the poem <em>The Owl and the Pussy-Cat</em> by Edward Lear to EYFS or Key Stage 1 pupils. All selected 29 words/phrases from the poem contain matching images.</p> <p><strong>Vocabulary cards</strong><br /> The vocabulary cards can be used as a glossary, or cut out and used as a matching activity or as flashcards. These are particularly useful for pupils with English as an additional language (EAL) and pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to pre-teach the vocabulary before reading the poem, and again mid-unit.</p> <p>The cards can also be used as a glossary for all pupils to refer to while studying the poem to aid understanding.</p> <p>The cards can be printed onto A3 and displayed in the classroom as a visual reminder.</p> <p><strong>Vocabulary Presentation</strong><br /> The 59 slide presentation can be used to pre-teach the vocabulary, to test pupils or to prompt the class as they recite the lines to help pupils to memorize the poem.</p> <p><strong>Poem Presentation</strong><br /> A 31 slide presenation, with each line of the poem on a different slide. The key words/phrases have been blanked out and replaced with an image to represent that word/phrase.
