This is a group of revision sheets for the Year 11 Physics topics in the WJEC curriculum. These cover either Unit 2 (Triple Physics) or Unit 6 (Double Science - Physics). There is at least one sheet for each topic area (Double: 6.1-6.6 or Triple: 2.1-2.9). I print these out on A3 paper and give them to the students with either BBC Bitesize or revision guides to help answer the questions.
Revision broadsheets for Unit 4 - Biology, Unit 5 - Chemistry and Unit 6 - Physics.
These are designed as an overview of each topic for each unit of the year 11 content.
This revision lesson is fully-resourced and differentiated to allow students of differing abilities to assess their understanding of topic 2.4 (Further motion concepts) of the WJEC GCSE Physics specification. The engaging and detailed PowerPoint and accompanying resources contain exam-style questions, quick tasks, discussion points and a quiz competition which check on the following specification points:
The qualitative relationship between mass and velocity in the calculation of momentum
Application of the law of the conservation of momentum to perform calculations involving collisions
Applying the kinetic energy equation to compare the size of this energy store before and after an interaction
Newton’s second law in the form force = change in momentum over time
Using equations to model the motion of an object
The principle of moments
To fall in line with the specification, there is a big emphasis on mathematical skills in this lesson and students are given guidance and assistance to ensure that they can access the work
Retrieval Roulette template made by Adam Boxer
filled with 441 questions for WJEC GCSE Physics course (Year 10&11)
Could be used as a starter every lesson or given as independent homework throughout the year. An excellent activity for interleaving and spaced retrieval practice.
Questions tab: shows questions for all topics along with question number
Do now tab: Fill in the “Up to Question” box with the appropriate question number for content covered so far and 5 questions will be generated. Press F9 for new questions.
Do now ans tab: Answers to the 5 questions
Do not tab r: You can enter a range of question numbers to focus on specific areas
Video on Adam Boxer’s website shows clearly how to use it.
This is a revision powerpoint and booklet of past paper questions I have used for revision.
My class found it helpful as it has past paper questions, answers and teacher explanations. The pdf snap shots are from a free revision guide produced by Bangor University.
This is a powerpoint to revise WJEC P2.
It has learning mats, past paper questions and answers.
The pdf snap shots are from the Bangor University revision guides that can be downloaded for free.
This really helped my class when revising.
This is a booklet which includes a page for each of the specified practicals in the WJEC GCSE Physics curriculum. Each practical has two pages, with the introduction and apparatus list, with lines to then write the experiment up on. You can then chose if you want the focus to be on the method, variables, results, etc. I will then add extra pages like graph paper as and when I need it.
This worksheet is designed for the WJEC Making Use of Energy topic, but may suit other exam boards too.
It concerns different methods for heating the home (Coal, gas, electricity, LPG), including advantages and disadvantages of each and a payback time question.
All 15 lessons including a formative assessment included in this bundle. Everything covered for GCSE Theme 5 looking at weather and climate and biomes. Worksheets, videos, clear instructions, modelled answers.
Lesson 7 in Unit of Work within Theme 5: Weather, Climate & Ecosystems. This lesson gives revision, assessment and then feedback - all lessons are fully resourced with clear instructions, modelled answers, effective feedback, videos are linked.
All of the lessons in this bundle are fully-resourced and have been designed to contain a wide range of activities that will challenge the students on their knowledge and understanding of the content of UNIT 2 of the WJEC GCSE Physics specification.
The engaging PowerPoints and accompanying resources cover the following topics:
Topic 2.1: Distance, speed and acceleration
Topic 2.3: Work and energy
Topic 2.4: Further motion concepts
Topic 2.7: Types of radiation
Topic 2.8: Half-life
Topic 2.9: Nuclear decay and nuclear energy
To fall in line with the heavy mathematical content of this course, the lessons challenge a range of skills including rearranging formulae, converting units, using standard form and significant figures and percentage change
If you would like to see the quality of the lessons, download the topic 2.3 lesson which has been shared for free
Here is a sequence of lessons taking you through the Features of Waves (all pupils) and Total Internal Reflection of Waves (separate science pupils) topics. It includes lesson objectives, starter and plenary activities, answers to all calculations, links to simulations and video clips and sample results where relevant. When teaching, I use it in conjunction with my apple iBook (pdf also available).
Although designed for the WJEC course, there will be lots of overlap with other exam boards.
Here is a sequence of lessons taking you through the Seismic Waves (separate science pupils) topics. It includes lesson objectives, various tasks, answers to all quesitons, and links to useful external websites. When teaching, I use it in conjunction with my apple iBook (pdf available).
Although designed for the WJEC course, there will be lots of overlap with other exam boards.
This is a revision question sheet about power stations, the national grid and efficiency. It is designed for the WJEC Generating Electricity topic, but will be useful for many exam boards. An answer sheet is also included.
A4 pages to be printed in booklet format for pupils to work through. There are questions to complete which are focussed on the retention of knowledge related to the course and some skill based sections. The entire Physics syllabus is covered for foundation tier and higher tier content is in a box to allow pupils to distinguish between the two.
A full and comprehensive PowerPoint presentation outlining the Potential Divider, as per the WJEC GCE Specification. Includes derivation of equations as well as applications using a Thermistor and LDR. Some past paper questions at the end include model answers for self-assessment.
