2019 End of Term Summer Quiz

(6)
This will be my third year of Summer Quizzes on TES, trying hard to make those last few lessons of the year run as smooth as possible for the lowest price. The quiz follows the usual structure, including a Picture Round, 12 Months, Film, General Knowledge, Music, Maths (yes…Maths…so it’s totally educational when your HoD pops by…) and following last year’s Twitter battles, this year it’s Instagram Battles. The Quiz is aimed at Secondary School Age and should last a full lesson. Answers are provided along with an answers sheet that pupils can fill out if you wish. Keep an eye out for offers, I will do an early bird offer to give you the opportunity to buy at the lowest price TES will allow. Also included are detailed information on the copyright information of all images used. If you have any issues with media playback for example feel free to drop me an email and I will do my best to sort it out for you: thomas.payne@midkent.ac.uk

Fun weekly news quiz - updated every school week

(286)
Topical news quiz with some fun pictorial puns to give clues. Please note the lady in the picture is my wife, I'm the hairy one! :-) It is designed for registration and I produce it every Thursday for afternoon registration on a Friday. Most of my old school colleagues used it and I was sending it to about 18 other schools when it was suggested I share it on TES. since I started on TES almost 5 years ago it has grown and now goes direct to 2950+ schools and is downloaded roughly 1500 times a week from TES. If you wnt to be sent the quiz direct please email at simonsnewsquiz@gmail.com. Please do not ask via the reviews as it is a pain to deal with that way! It has 10 questions and takes about 10 minutes to do. And i'm still doing it 3 years after retirement!

GCSE Revision (Trigonometry: SOH CAH TOA)

(34)
Ideal for GCSE revision, this worksheet contains exam-type questions that gradually increase in difficulty. This sheet covers Trigonometry in Right-angled Triangles (aka ‘soh cah toa’). These review sheets are great to use in class or as a homework. They are also excellent for one-to-one tuition and for interventions. For similar-style revision sheets on other topics, click 👉 tes.com/../more... Answers are included, as is a NEW STYLE of PowerPoint, which allows individual questions to be selected for enlarged display onto a screen. The answer can then be worked out ‘live’ by the teacher (or student) or a single click will reveal my solution. This not only helps in class, but it is also very useful for a student who is revising at home 😀. 👍If you like this resource, then please rate it and/or leave a comment💬. If the rate-resource button on this page does not work, then go to your ratings page by clicking here 👉tes.com/.../rate-resources…

Venn Diagrams - NEW GCSE

(60)
This is a PPT I made to cover the new GCSE topic of Venn diagrams. It goes through set notation and includes a matching activity where students have to try and match the notation to the shaded diagram. It then goes into finding probabilities for a two-set Venn, including 'given' questions before extending this to three-set Venns, including ones that need to be filled in. It also has a worksheet to go with it that increases in difficulty, and one of my bonus Throwback Thursdays!
