There are two Earth Days. The United Nations celebrates Earth Day each year on the March equinox. Another Earth Day is celebrated each year on 22nd April. Earth Day is a global event created to promote awareness and appreciation for the earth’s environment. It was launched in the USA in 1970. Today Earth Day is celebrated in more than 192 countries around the world. It is also a useful resource for World Environment Day in June. This resource is a fully editable, colourful and informative 70 slide lesson / assembly presentation on Earth Day. The resource contains references to The founders of Earth Day - John McConnell, Senator Gaylord Nelson and Denis Hayes. The first Earth Day in 1970 and its impact on legislation in the USA leading to the creation of the ‘United States Environmental Protection Agency’ and the ‘Clean Air’, ‘Clean Water’ and ‘Endangered Species��� Acts. Earth Day Game Board This is a fun and engaging game board about Earth Day. The focus is on earning "Earth Points". Points can be earned in a number of different ways: ★Start of Game- Each player begins the game with 100 Earth points. ★Spelling “Earth Day”- Earth points are earned when a player spells “Earth Day”. Throughout the game, there are many ways to obtain letters.
