The lesson has been created for students aged 14 to 17 to support them as they start to prepare for the world of employment, including any part time or holiday work from the age of 16. They will also learn how tax is collected when starting your own business or through PAYE with an employer. Junior Tax Facts is an interactive lesson designed to introduce children to the subject of taxation. Children will learn that taxes are the money that people and businesses have to pay the government in order to pay for the things that are important to us and our families, our local communities and the country. The lesson introduces the idea that as responsible citizens we all make small contributions towards the things that benefit everyone. The Junior Tax Facts lesson plan includes guidance on how to use the videos alongside activities for two different age groups: ages 8 to 11 and 11 to 13. The lesson objectives support aspects of the curriculum for both age groups. The booklets are best used alongside the Pearson student book by Alain Anderton and Ian Gunn. However some references to looking in the book can be removed if you don’t have it. The booklets are on word and can be adapted.

The Rock Enrol interactive lesson framework is not subject specific. However, it is particularly useful for supporting PSHE, the Citizenship curriculum at Key Stages 3, 4 and at post 16. The resources are aimed at inspiring young people to discuss what they care about and why they should register to vote. Rock Enrol includes: a lesson outline, engaging activities, suggestions for extensions and reasons to register to vote, and a Q&A document. The lesson framework was co-created by the Cabinet Office and young people at Bite the Ballot, a youth led organisation.
